Before you light anything

Buy only from licensed sellers, and keep crackers in their original boxes.
Light one at a time, outdoors, at arm's length — never in a hand or a bottle.
Keep a bucket of water and a bucket of sand within reach.
Children need an adult beside them, not watching from a window.
Wear cotton. Loose synthetic clothing catches fast.
Never relight a dud. Soak it in water and leave it.
Keep well away from vehicles, thatch, dry leaves and cylinders.
For a burn: cool under running water for 10 minutes, then see a doctor.
